Austin Jazz Composers Collective

Austin-Triple-Crown
Austin "Triple Crown"

The Austin Jazz Composers Collective is an innovative platform dedicated to showcasing the talents of Central Texas jazz composers and bringing their original works to life. Our collaboration with HPPAA aims to create unforgettable cultural experiences that transcend boundaries, spark curiosity, uplift spirits, and enrich communities. Through art grants, mentorship, and art management programs, AJCC supports the creation of impactful, interactive creative jazz around the world and in Austin, Texas, home to seminal AJCC events. The mission of the  Austin Jazz Composers Collective  is to change the paradigm of jazz from a commodified object to an interactive, participatory, shared experience of creative expression.

This proposal outlines an exciting series of monthly Tuesday programs that will feature the vibrant and diverse music of contemporary American jazz composers. These captivating performances will take place at the esteemed Austin "Triple Crown" venues, namely The Elephant Room, Parker Jazz, and Monks, on a rotational basis. With the generous funding we seek, we will be able to provide support to our incredibly talented performing musicians, ensuring they are fairly compensated for their artistic contributions. Additionally, the funds will enable us to create compelling promotional materials that will help spread the word about these exceptional performances. To enhance accessibility and reach a wider audience, we plan to live-stream each performance from the venue, making it available to music lovers worldwide. This global reach will not only promote the work of our talented composers but also create an inclusive experience that transcends geographical boundaries. By combining the power of live performances, engaging compositions, and cutting-edge technology, the Austin Jazz Composers Collective aims to cultivate a vibrant and thriving jazz scene in Central Texas. We believe that music has the ability to unite people, ignite emotions, and foster a sense of community. Through this project, we aspire to enrich the lives of our audiences and contribute to the cultural fabric of our local and global communities. Your support will be instrumental in making this vision a reality. Together, let's embark on a journey of discovery, celebration, and the joy of jazz!
