Dan Morgenstern: Editor - Metronome
When Metronome editor Dave Solomon published the July 1961 cover of a Coney Island stripper, librarians all over the country cancelled their subscriptions. Solomon was fired, and Dan Morgenstern became editor of Metronome during its last year of existence. Dan brought the magazine back to purely jazz, and is recognized as an early publisher for articles by black writers LeRoi Jones (Amiri Baraka) and A. B. Spellman.
