"American pianist Hank Hehmsoth stands out as a virtuoso capable of continually producing new songs and albums, displaying a prolificacy similar to that of a hen that lays eggs every day. This comparison is not aimed at diminishing his figure, but rather at underlining his extraordinary compositional abilities. Among the musician's numerous works, the song "From Day One" was highlighted to us in particular, accompanied by a motivation that describes it like this" >.

Arts critic Matheus Luzi, of the national art magazine of Brazil "Revista Arte de Brasiliera" — which focuses on Brazilian music, in all its aspects and expressions…included "A New Day" on his playlist called “Beyond Brazil” and with an interview.
Imagine you have to quickly present this song to someone, what would you say?
My song “A New Day” is a captivating jazz instrumental piano trio piece that exudes a sense of freshness and optimism. The music flows effortlessly, creating a serene yet uplifting atmosphere that draws listeners in.
What stands out about “A New Day” is its ability to blend traditional jazz elements with a modern sensibility. The improvisational nature of the piano work is engaging and relaxing, making it a perfect track for moments of relaxation or contemplation. My touch on the keys is delicate and expressive, allowing each note to resonate with clarity and emotion.
Is there a message behind the instrumental?
I decided to share “A New Day” to showcase the versatility and depth of jazz piano. It’s a track that transcends the boundaries of the genre, appealing to jazz enthusiasts and casual listeners alike. The piece’s light, airy feel makes it a great companion to start the day on a positive note or wind down in the evening. It’s a perfect example of how instrumental music can convey deep emotions and tell a story without words, making it a valuable addition to any music collection. It pushes the conventional boundaries of the genre.
If there is a message behind the song, it is to remain “light” and “airy” throughout life.
How and why did this song come about?
My trio plays 2 shows a night, 6 nights a week. My trio needs to stay fresh and with so much playing, I want as much new material as possible. I remember those early 2K “smooth jazz” tracks , like David Benoit, Dave Grusin or Bob James. I really love the vibe, and it reminds me of my childhood when I first discovered that genre.
In addition to composing, performing and recording my jazz, I have come to realize that contemporary jazz can be packaged into compilations, suitable for restaurants and coffee shops around the world, and several of my tracks are being considered for soundtracks for film, TV and advertising.
Is there anything interesting about this release that you would like to highlight?
The song is part of my 2024 album “Exit”. I have 5 albums recorded.
“This is a fine composition, well arranged and recorded.
Happy to broadcast and share.”

"…reminds me of those 80’s jazz pop tracks like David Benoit, Dave Grusin, or Bob James. The rhythm bass sounds flawless, especially how the upright bass fits so well with the groove of the drummer.
The piano performance is amazing. I really like how the different melodies are presented and how the solo runs across the whole harmonic progression.
I appreciate how the melody and rhythm patterns, and how the piano develops the whole song, uplifting this beautiful piece of music. I really love the vibe, and it reminds me of my childhood when I discovered this genre of music."
